Faculty
It’s all about you. Our faculty has been chosen based on the skills that need to be imparted to you. Headed by Dr Philip Docking who has over 15 years experience in nursing education, the faculty comprises veterans of the healthcare industry and they know the skills needed to thrive in the industry.
Dr Docking has a strong clinical practice background in Accident and Emergency in the United Kingdom, and has held lecturing positions at universities in the United Kingdom and Australia as well as Nanyang Polytechnic in Singapore. Dr Docking last held the position of Head of Nursing at Shafston Institute of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. He has also published a number of publications and worked as a consultant on the 4th and 5th edition of the Stedman’s Dictionary for Healthcare Professionals.
The Institute’s Nursing Advisor, Ms Lee Yee Kew, also provides
invaluable feedback and advice on nursing education and development
issues. Ms Lee Yee Kew has over 30 years of nursing experience and
had previously served as Director of Nursing at the National University
Hospital. During her tenure at NUH, she developed the Clinical Nurse
Career Structure. She is presently a Nursing Consultant to the World
Health Organisation.
Our aim is to keep the classes small for maximun interaction; for
lectures the teacher student ratio is 1:25 and for tutorials and
practical sessions, 1:15. To achieve this we have a full time faculty
of 5 and many international sessional lecturers.
